Mama B & the Boys

Boys are truth with dirt on their face, beauty with a cut on its finger, wisdom with bubble gum in its hair, and the hope of the future with a frog in its pocket.

WOW WHAT A WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's start with Sunday. We woke up Sunday morning to the beginning of a nice white beautiful snow. We decided to venture out to a new Church we've been wanting to visit for a while. We had a great time! The nursery program there is awesome, the worship was great, the sermon was very educating, and we were greeted with open arms. We've been looking for a place we felt like we belonged and that met each of our needs. Well, I think we've finally found it. As far as I know we plan on heading back there on Sunday and we can't wait! The rest of our Sunday was pretty boring. It snowed so much more and the roads got terrible....

Monday morning we woke up early, played with Jaren, got ready and headed to my first OB appointment! I was so excited to go and get to hear the baby's heartbeat, and just ease my mind that everything was okay!! Well we started down our hill (if anyone knows where we live then they will understand this story completely) it was so slick we couldn't even get stopped pulling out of the drive way and it's a level surface. Anyway, we started down the hill and Cali's (that's what we named our car) back end decided it was going to go ahead of the front of us. I WAS TERRIFIED! Jesse said he was a little nervous because he'd never really had that happen to him before. The car had stopped sliding, so I asked him to let me out of the car because I hate to slide and I knew it would be better if I wasn't in the car to yell at him. Well when I got out of the car, I slipped! So Jesse decided to get out and help me across the road to get into the snow so I wouldn't slip again. Anyway, we saw another vehicle was trying to come down the hill so Jesse wanted to tell him to give him time to get down the hill before he tried to come so that they wouldn't collide. So he patiently waited. Then another vehicle decided to come up the hill. When you live on this hill in the winter you have to get a running start or you'll NEVER make it. So Jesse waved the guy down and got him stopped just in time. So he patiently waited as well. Once again, Jesse was trying to figure out the safest way to get the car down the hill, when another guy started truckin' it up the hill. We all flagged him down but he kept right on coming, and got around our car and yep you guessed it, got stuck on the ice and slid right down the hill backwards and crashed into our car. He knocked our car into the huge ditch on the side of the road. It was terrible. To make the rest of the story short, we exchanged insurance information, and it took 5 hours to get our car out of the ditch. We are now driving a rental and our car is at the collision repair shop at the cost of the other guy. While we were waiting on the tow truck and exchanging information I slipped on the ice twice and fell both times. My doctor's office was closed by the time we got the car out, so we headed to the ER. We heard the baby's heartbeat there and everything was good. Praise God!

Tuesday was my Grandma's 69th birthday! The morning was a little rough. She fell out of bed, but she was in her right mind, she knew it was her birthday. We celebrated chocolate cake with peanut butter icing, and neopolitan ice cream!

Wednesday was another eventful day. About 400ish in the morning we were awaken by a HUGE BOOOM! My mom came running down the stairs for me to call 911. My grandma had fallen again, flat on to her face on her bedroom floor. She hit her head on a desk she has in her room, so we wouldn't allow her to move until the ambulance got there. Thank goodness the ambulance is a tank and made it up this horrible hill. After about 7 or 8 hours of tests and xrays, they concluded that she was just going to be very bruised and sore for a while and let her come home. She has a two pretty big marks on her face. Jesse and I decided to start getting ready to go do a few things while Jaren napped and then we got Jaren up and came upstairs to get ready to go. I walked into the kitchen and looked into my Grandma's room and she was on the floor again. I screamed for Jesse to get her up for my Mom. He lifted her up like it was nothing and put her back into her bed. I just hope now she realizes she just needs to yell for my Mom to help her out of bed. It's so scary when someone falls.

Thursday: Grandma is doing better today. She's stayed in bed pretty much all day and my Mom actually got a little rest. I had my appointment today at 315 and I love the Dr. that I got to see. I was supposed to just go in for blood work(they called me on the way and cancelled because the doctor I was supposed to see was called in to an emergency c-section, but they fit me in with another doctor.) We got to hear the baby's heartbeat again and I had all my labs drawn. Then the doctor asked if we wanted an unofficial ultrasound. It was awesome. Baby Davis was kicking and swinging her/his arms like crazy. Jesse said I'm in a lot of trouble once she/he starts getting bigger! The rest of my evening has been spent eating dinner and just relaxing. The past few days have exhausted me completely so relaxing is just what I need.

Please keep my Grandma in your prayers while she's recovering from her fall!

I'll try to have pictures up very soon!

First update in 2009

Hello outside world! I apologize that this is my first update since December, but things have been a little busy around here. Not busy like running around like a head with it's chicken cut off, but just busy visiting friends and family, following busy body Jaren around, grocery shopping, and still trying to get organized. Okay so maybe I have been running around like a chicken a little bit, but I'm hoping to slow down a little now.

Christmas was fantastic. Jaren enjoyed every little thing he got. We didn't want to go too big this year, because that's just more stuff for us to move, but he had SO MUCH FUN! After the first two presents, he knew exactly what to do, to get the toy out of the pretty package. We ate a big Christmas dinner here at my Mom's and just enjoined the day as a family.

A few days after Christmas, we headed up to Ohio to visit Marty, Becky, Nikki, and Jesse's Mom. We had a great visit with all of them as well. We hung out at Marty's for a while, and then went and had dinner with Jesse's Mom. Jaren got some very nice Cleveland Browns outfits, which Jesse was so proud of!!!

New Years was relaxing. We all just hung out here and ate lots of buffalo chicken dip, and veggies and dip. It snowed, so it was nice to know we could just stay in doors and enjoy the warmth and comfort.

After New Years, Jesse got into major 'job hunting mode'. He's applied for 2 different federal prisons, a position assisting veterans find jobs and other programs, and a few other jobs. Today he headed down to Summersville to take the Corrections Officer exam. Once the exam is finished, then they will review everything and decide if they will chose him for an interview. The job at one of the prisons, is a Veterans Recruitment position, which I believe means they are only accepting Veterans applications for that position. I just praise God for the doors he is opening for us daily.

I'm 10 weeks pregnant today. I still don't feel much different, except for the exhaustion and sickness. But I know once I get that ultrasound and hear that tiny heartbeat, I'll feel a lot more pregnant. I now have an appointment on January 19th. We finally got everything finalized with Tricare, but once again, at the end of the month, Jesse will be going from Active Duty to retired status, so we will have to fight tooth and nail again. I'm just glad I have an appointment for the insurance business goes all psycho again!!!

My best friend Tosha is pregnant. She just found out a few days ago and she is due exactly one month after me! I'm so excited for her. And it will be really exciting to go through pretty much our whole pregnancy together.

Anyway, Jaren is wanting to wrestle, so I'm going to have to go for now. I'll be writing again as soon as I can, and hopefully I'll have some picture updates of the last 2 months. We love you all!
